Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty

Asia Argento grew up in Rome Italy. Her family is comprised of actors, and she herself has been pursuing both careers. In 1985, she made her debut in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni. Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato a Nozze showed Asia's absorption manner that she exhibited in her playing. In 1993, she played Arianna in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista, a role in which she was so intricate that she earned the David di Donatello prize as the most outstanding actress. Patrice Chereau helmed Queen Margot for which she also played an important role. In 1995 Asia worked with Michel Piccoli to produce Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion, for which she was awarded a David di Donatello. Asia began her career in 1994 as a director, and produced two shorts: Prospettive (1996), a document on her father and her mother, as well as Abel/Asia (1998) Abel/Asia, a feature about the cult film maker Abel Ferrara. The latter received an award from the Rome Film Festival. In 1999, Asia began her film-directing career by directing Scarlet Diva (2000), in which she was the lead actress as well as the writer for the script. The film was released in May 2000 across Italy and the rest of the world. The film won a prize in the Williamsburg International Film Festival in Brooklyn. Anna Lou was born in 2001 after she directed some music videos. She was in 2002 on the screen as The Red Siren by Olivier Megaton alongside Jean-Marc Bar and the action thrilledirected of Rob Cohen, with Vin Diesel. Asia also has a selection of short stories, which were published in top magazines.
